Dear Juice Press Community, 

This week, Juice Press (JP) team members received a letter affirming the company’s strong stance on anti-racism and the importance of equality. Our team is outraged by the acts of racism, brutality, and injustice against Black communities. This long standing, institutional oppression and violence is deeply ingrained in our country’s history and culture, manifesting itself most recently in the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and others. The pace of change on the road to structural equality must accelerate dramatically and JP needs to be part of that change. 

Unfortunately, the existence and impact of systemic injustices against Black people will not readily disappear. It is not acceptable for “better than before” to be considered “nearly good enough.” The objective must be true institutional equality.

Juice Press stands with our Black team members, customers, farmers, business partners, and community. We are determined to be a caring and strong ally of all Black communities, and the Juice Press team must continue to demonstrate this every day. This is a core mission of our company.

We recognize that true allyship starts from within. This begins with the empowerment of our team members. Tomorrow, we will be hosting a virtual Town Hall with our entire team to listen to our community and address how we can foster an actively anti-racist culture within our company. We’re listening, we’re learning, and we’re committed to change. 

Furthermore, we are committed to working towards making JP an effective ally of all BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. As leaders in the wellness space, we are committed to using our voice as a call for change and equality. We want to use our platform to encourage the voices of BIPOC communities and call for justice against an unjust system. 

This will not be an overnight victory — the path forward requires hard, honest conversations. With education, advocacy, and commitment, we’re confident that we can create real and impactful change. We’ve decided to start within our own organization by listening, learning, supporting, and promoting the voices of our BIPOC team members. We are eager to share the actionable objectives we set for ourselves. Our hope is to be transparent in these immensely important efforts, just as we are in our ingredients and our quality.
