In 1912, the New York Times reported that a Bulgarian woman was living at the age of 126 and had a son who was 102 years old, and that one percent of the Bulgarian population was over 100 years of age. Some probiotics (not ProViotic) may actually cause gas and bloating. Bacterial gases in the intestines account for almost 75% of flatulence. The strain of bacteria found in ProViotic is of the L. Bulgaricus subspecies and by nature does not cause gas or associated symptoms, as indicated by recent a Cornell University classification document. Most probiotics contain lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria are divided into two categories, gas producing and non-gas producing:
1) Homofermentative – good bacteria that do not produce gas during fermentation. ProViotic’s L. Bulgaricus GLB44 is an example of non-gas producing homofermentative bacteria. Two facts that support this classification:
a) Lack of gas during metabolism is actually used as identifier for L. Bulgaricus strains (like ProViotic). In the science community, when they isolate a strain that they think is a L. bulgaricus, they check it for gas production; if there is gas, then it is not a Bulgaricus.
b) You can keep dairy yogurt that contains live cultures of L. Bulgaricus outside the fridge and it will not blow up the plastic container the same way raw juices may expand on their own.
2) Heterofermentative – good bacteria that produce multiple substances during fermentation including co2 gas in many cases. What makes Proviotic better than other vegan probiotics?

How is Proviotic made?
Proviotic is sourced from the European snowdrop flower found in the mountains of Bulgaria. The flower is able to survive in cold climates, which helps explain why L. Bulgaricus is able to thrive in cold pressed juice. Only the freshest and healthiest vegetables are selected for juicing. The bacteria are then allowed to grow in the fresh juice, and after 24 hours, the liquid is dehydrated at low temperatures to preserve the full vitality of the probiotic.
If Proviotic was discovered 109 years ago, why is it only starting to be sold now?
Proviotic has been used for 109 years in milk yogurts in Europe and Japan. However, we were the first to discover that this specific probiotic strain was extracted from the snowdrop flower, and that it can be cultivated in vegetable juice.

Yes! Taking Proviotics together with antibiotics will give you either a net benefit of helping out the good flora, or in the worst case scenario the antibiotic may kill our good bacteria, depending on the antibiotic. Taking them together will definitely not do any harm.
In general, our good bacteria is sensitive to antibiotics; thus, if we want to keep it alive, it is better to wait at least three hours after taking antibiotics before taking Proviotic to increase the health benefit. Proviotic becomes most effective after the antibiotic treatment – in the period when the flora is starting to regrow.
